Synopsis: A woman stands at the edge of the lake, sorrowful and lamenting. She observes the water in its vast magnificence and sees herself in its deceptive beauty. Beneath the water’s surface floats suspended foreign particles, leaching poison. Her body feels as the water does. She is water and she, too, is poisoned. Another woman joins her in suffering, for she too understands. They are divided between being the water carriers and being the poisoners. How to protect the water? How to protect themselves? They are fraught with guilt, for they too have been the dust upon the glow of the rose. They believe the Earth has become bitter, for humanity has poisoned the fruit which it bears. But the Earth is not bitter. She, and the water, are taking this poison with grace, but not first without sharing it, for she cannot hold this burden alone. As human drinks from the waters, they taste the poison they themselves have imbued in her. Human’s womb no longer can support life with ease, human mind can no longer calm itself, human body contorts around particles of anthropogenic creation, swelling into tumors of confusion.
